About Gx Originals
This site is built foremost as a portfolio, designed with exploration and discovery in mind, showcasing many years of artwork and artistic development. Each piece of original artwork has been crafted as a standalone piece, all untitled, with exception of their collection reference code, with the intent to allow the viewer to see what they want within each. About the Collections
The Gx Abstracts collections are creations from a mind ‘blessed’ with a condition called Aphantasia, which is a phenomenon that effects the conscience mind’s ability to form a visual image within it, meaning, I have no idea where a piece will end up, as I have no clear vision, of what I want to create, to start with, I simply move colour and form till, I feel, it's time to stop, then add to a collection, I think, it fits within, although what I see within each, may not be what another see within them.
The Gx Textuals collections began as extracts from larger personal writing projects, which I then crafted with the same form and visual structure as the Gx Abstract collections. I have always endeavoured to write timeless pieces with potency and brevity, without gender or agenda, at their essence they're snapshots of emotions and poetic thoughts, that may, or may not, resonate with those that read, though hopefully feel, them.
I am of the belief that visual art, in any form, should entice the eye, provoke the mind, or ignite the soul...if not all three! My hope is that there are pieces throughout the collections on this site that convey the latter, for those that look upon each. Gx
About Gx
London born, bred and based. No formal education to speak of, mainly self-taught, always learning. I prefer to let my work speak for itself and not really one for volunteering unrequested information about myself, beyond insight into creative works, although, if you have a specific question, feel free to ask. Gx (un)Social
I have created this website as my main online presence. I steer clear of social media platforms, by choice, as I have never been the type of person to follow others and find the concept of being 'followed' slightly odd, in both the physical and digital realms, nor do I have any vested interest in the simplistic likes or dislikes others, afforded via social platforms, both of which I class as being akin to empty calories...digitally speaking! With that said, I am always interested in hearing the constructive critiques and opinions of those that want to take the time to share them, so please feel free to leave questions, feedback or commentary via form below, should you wish to do so!
